Balancing innovation and proven performance in modern waterproofing

Tremco’s Jeff Snyder explains how innovative technologies and time-tested systems are working together to help contractors deliver long-lasting waterproofing. 

Proper waterproofing is key to avoiding costly leaks, damage and other expenses. To learn about how manufacturers improving waterproofing can better prevent these costly issues, Tremco CPG’s Jeff Snyder stopped by for an episode of From the Ground Up™. 

Overall, Jeff noted that the waterproofing industry has been growing recently. He shared, “There are a lot of projects trying to maximize space. So people are putting pools, spas, dog walk areas, green spaces and more in places where we traditionally would’ve just put a roof and called it a day. The result is that demand for waterproofing systems that enable this type of construction is on the rise.” 

How is the industry meeting that rising demand? At Tremco the focus is on innovating new solutions while refining existing ones. Jeff explained:  

Innovating and moving the industry forward is really important, but at the same time we don't want to forget that tried-and-trued methods are tried-and-true because of how well they work. So, at Tremco, we work to provide both to our clients. We want to give them the products needed for that same hot-applied waterproofing that was being installed forty years ago and at the same time develop newer products like our below grade system that performs better for longer. 

By balancing new products with refined traditional ones, Tremco ensures that their contractors get the best systems, warranties and results. As Jeff put it, “Our goal is to use everything we've had in the past, all that technology and knowledge, to push forward to make sure contractors have the products they need to deliver high-performance waterproofing.”
