Soak up all the learning opportunities at the 2025 PSP Expo!
October 15, 2025 at 6:00 a.m.

By Emma Peterson.

Expand your skills through expert-led education and an extensive expo hall at this year’s Pool Spa Patio Expo and Deck Expo.

We’re are mere weeks away from the kickoff of the 2025 Pool Spa Patio (PSP) Expo, sponsored by the Pool and Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), and the 2025 Deck Expo! Both events will be running from October 22-24 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, making it the place to be for any outdoor professional! The Coffee Shops crew will be there, representing OutdoorCoffeeShop and hosting a live soundstage at booth #1853.

There’s a lot happening at the show, from fun networking opportunities to expert-led education sessions. To help you plan your day, here’s some of the educational highlights that we’re excited about!

Pre-conference

Through a collaboration with GENESIS®, PHTA is bringing back the popular pre-conference education programs this year! These sessions are designed to help professionals from across the pool, spa and hot tub industry expand their knowledge and gain certifications. Here are some of the incredible sessions that you can attend (note, if you register for a pre conference session, it will include a Super Pass and access to the Expo!).

  • Construction school: This is one of two of the programs in the pre-conference that “satisfies the education requirement to sit for the Certified Builder Professional (CBP) exam.” Running for three days (10/19/25-10/21/25), it is an amazing opportunity to learn from expert faculty about building structurally sound water vessels.
  • Construction superintendent: This two-day long course (10/20/25-10/21/25) aims to help swimming pool contractors understand how to train competent and accountable construction managers and superintendents that will help their businesses grow.
  • Elements of design: Another two-day course (10/20/25-10/21/25), this will teach attendees about the elements and principals of design in relation to laying out your projects.
  • Pool tile installation: Hosted by industry leaders Greg Andrews and Ken Milbery, this hands-on course spans two days (10/20/25-10/21/25). Designed for seasoned installers and experienced professionals, this masterclass on pool tile installation and dampprooofing includes lectures, live demonstrations and interactive practice.
  • The Pool & Spa Operator® Certification: This certification is the world’s leading, verifiable pool and spa training credential. It encompasses the basic knowledge, techniques and skills needed to create a safe aquatic facility. By attending this course (10/19/5-10/20/25), you will get relevant training and the opportunity to sit for the certification exam. For those that pass the exam, they will become Certified Pool & Spa Operators® (CPO®).
  • Certified Pool & Spa Maintenance Specialist®: Whether you are starting out your business and looking to establish foundational knowledge or a seasoned professional wanting to refresh their core skills, this course can help! It takes you through the PHTA Service Tech Manual, which helps you understand industry standards, and gets you a Pool & Spa Maintenance Specialist® (CMS®) certification.
  • The Certified Pool & Spa Inspector®: This one-day (10/21/25) crash course is a great opportunity for any professionals looking to build their pool and spa inspection skills. Not only does it give you the training needed to conduct inspections that “support the assurance of a sanitary, healthy and safe environment of public swimming pools and spas,” it gives you the certification proving your expertise!

  2. Design/Construction: Level up your design skills with this informative track. There are sessions in every aspect of the design world, from color palettes to hydraulics and automation.
