Dauer Manufacturing introduces Morpheus, a first- of its-kind smart landscape lighting fixture

Patent-pending liquid crystal technology electronically reshapes and moves light through more than 10,000 possible lighting combinations.

Dauer Manufacturing today introduced Morpheus, a first-of-its-kind smart landscape lighting fixture that gives lighting professionals unprecedented control over the shape, direction and intensity of light from the Dauer Smart App. Its patent-pending liquid crystal lens electronically reshapes and redirects the beam without motors, moving optics, interchangeable lenses or manual adjustments at the fixture, allowing professionals to refine an installation through the app as conditions or client preferences change.

Morpheus makes its public debut at Equip Exposition 2026, held October 20-23 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville. Attendees can view the Morpheus demonstration video beginning at 9:00 a.m. ET at Dauer booth #24068. A media presentation, live demonstration and Q&A will begin at the booth at 1:30 p.m. ET. Dauer representatives will also be available for individual interviews by appointment following the presentation.

Designed for landscape lighting professionals, designers, contractors and specifiers, Morpheus combines electronic beam shaping, two-axis aiming, dimming and programmed movement in one professional fixture. Users can transition from a precise 16-degree spot to a 70-degree flood, stretch the beam vertically, expand it horizontally, shift the light across two axes and adjust intensity, all through the app.

Morpheus also introduces Dauer's proprietary Kinetic Lighting Effect (KLE). The feature connects saved lighting positions in a programmed sequence and moves gradually between them at a selected speed. A wash of light can drift across a wall, moonlight can move naturally through tree branches or illumination can subtly transform around a focal point. Together, the liquid crystal lens and KLE provide more than 10,000 possible lighting combinations from a single fixture.

Available in uplight and downlight configurations, Morpheus can be used to illuminate trees, columns, sculptures, walls, architectural details, hedges, fences and other landscape elements. Because the beam can be reshaped and redirected without physically touching the fixture, the lighting can be reconfigured as plant material grows, properties change or client preferences evolve.
