Award-winning former WRAL Anchor Bill Leslie named DuraSeal celebrity spokesperson

Long-time television personality endorses sealant brand.

DuraSeal Inc., a multi-state exterior sealing company, has named Bill Leslie, the retired WRAL-TV anchor and North Carolina broadcasting Hall of Fame member, as its celebrity spokesperson. He said he agreed to represent DuraSeal because the product permanently protects decks and driveways and ends the cycle of re-staining.

DuraSeal Inc. today announced that Bill Leslie, the award-winning former WRAL-TV news anchor, is the company's new celebrity spokesperson. Leslie spent more than three decades at WRAL. He joins DuraSeal as the company expands its permanent protection service across 11 markets in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida.

DuraSeal applies a proprietary silicone-based penetrating sealant to decks, fences, driveways, patios, pool decks and pavers. The sealant soaks into the surface and seals it from the inside out. It is not a top coat. DuraSeal backs the work with a 25-year transferable warranty.

Leslie joined WRAL-TV in 1984 and anchored the station's morning and noon newscasts for decades before he stepped away from the anchor desk in 2018. He has won more than 70 major news awards, including two Peabody Awards and seven Emmy Awards. The state of North Carolina has honored him with the Order of the Long Leaf Pine and the North Carolina Award, the state's highest civilian honor. The North Carolina Association of Broadcasters inducted him into its Hall of Fame in 2022.

Leslie said he studied the company before he agreed to represent it. "Number one, it's a terrific product backed by an outstanding warranty and solid customer service," Leslie said. "I have studied the Google reviews and they are quite impressive. Plus, I love the idea of permanently protecting my deck and driveway. It takes the worry out of maintenance. It ends the annual headache of re-staining."

"DuraSeal is not a top coat. There is much more to it. DuraSeal is a deeply penetrating sealant that locks out moisture," Leslie said. "After you've studied the process you realize: why would I ever stain my deck again when I can hire DuraSeal to permanently protect it?"

"Bill spent his career earning the trust of North Carolina families," said Brad Halferty, founder and owner of DuraSeal. "Like our customers, he read the reviews, studied the process and asked hard questions before he put his name on it. That is exactly the kind of voice we want speaking for DuraSeal."
