It seems like every year NSF releases a new update to NSF/ANSI 50 (the standard covering equipment and chemicals for swimming pools, spas and hot tubs). In fact, just in 2025, changes were made to clarify slip resistance testing, supplemental disinfection requirements, silver output rate on data plates, filters usable for water conditioning device performance validation testing and more!
All these changes are important to advancing the safety and security of recreational water facilities, but it can be hard to keep up with them! Luckily, AquaStar Pool Products is keeping the changing codes in mind when they develop their new products.
A great example of this is their Flow Sync™ Floor Return, which is not only an exceptional product, but was also designed with NSF-approved return fittings and meets NSF 50 standards for safety and performance.
The Flow Sync uses a durable flush design to improve flow distribution and minimizes floor discoloration of a pool. It comes in two versions, one for new construction (FSTxxx) and one for retrofit applications (RFSTxxx). Both feature integrated water stops to prevent leaks, a sleek flush mount design and UV-resistant ABS material. Further, there are five different color options for the product, so you are able to match the aesthetics of whatever project you are working on.
As for its performance, it utilizes a 360° flow projection, allowing users to easily adjust the flow rate “from 1 to 83 GPM using the optional Hand Tool (FSEW), a pole mounted Deck Tool (FSTW) or a standard 3/8 in. hex key” without diving. For further adjustability, there are 8 optional plugs that can change the flow from 360 to 180 degrees.
