Cindy Code is a career green industry communicator. Cindy’s reputation was established through her two-decade tenure at Lawn & Landscape magazine before being named executive director of Project EverGreen in 2011. She’s spent her career in the green industry because she believes in the power of green spaces – not just for their beauty, but for the real, measurable impact they have on people and the environment. From yards and parks to sports fields and community spaces, she’s participated firsthand in enhancing green spaces that bring people together, improve health and create cooler, cleaner places to live.
She’s also seen what happens when green spaces are neglected – when once-thriving green spaces fall into disrepair, leaving communities without the benefits they provide. That’s why she’s passionate about bringing people together – volunteers, professionals and advocates – to restore and sustain these spaces, ensuring they remain vibrant for generations to come.
Cindy graduated from Ohio University’s E.W. Scripps School of Journalism with a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism. She is an award-winning journalist honored by the Turf & Ornamental Communicators Association, the American Society of Business Press Editors and the Cleveland Press Club for her numerous contributions to the field.
