Tending to the green industry through advocacy, education and connection

Tending to the green industry through advocacy, education and connection

The Texas Nursery and Landscape Association provides resources, events and training designed to help members thrive.

The Texas Nursery and Landscape Association (TNLA) is Texas’s central hub for its green industry, bringing together landscape contractors, irrigation specialists, retail garden centers, grounds maintenance teams, growers, municipalities and suppliers. By uniting these sectors under one association, TNLA works to create a stronger, more connected industry that advances the success of companies statewide.

At the core of the TNLA’s mission is a focus on member support through advocacy, education and collaboration. TNLA actively monitors legislation and regulation activity to protect member businesses from unnecessary burdens. Its advocacy efforts ensure that green industry professionals have a voice at the table when policy decisions are made. In addition to advocacy, TNLA cultivates business growth by offering access to networking events and tools that help members stay informed on best practices and emerging trends.

Membership is structured for both in-state and out-of-state businesses, as well as nonprofit organizations that support the industry. Companies in Texas can join as Primary Business Members based on gross annual income, while out-of-state and nonprofit members join at a flat rate. Optional membership upgrades allow businesses to elevate their visibility through digital brand promotion, enhanced directory listings and additional marketing tools.

TNLA also strengthens the industry through major annual events, including the Nursery Landscape Expo, the Lone Star Hort Forum (January 5-7, 2026) and workshops across the state that provide members with education and CEU opportunities. Award programs such as the Texas Excellence in Landscaping Awards and the Texas Garden Retailer Awards recognize the achievements of landscape professionals and retail garden centers.

Career development is another core pillar of TNLA. Members gain access to TNLA certifications, leadership bootcamps, an active career center, on-demand online education and technical training. Resources such as the Best of Texas Landscaping Guide and the TCCN Field Guide help professionals problem-solve and deliver better results to their customers.

TNLA’s commitment to industry growth extends to community engagement through TNLA Foundation scholarships, their Green Report Podcast, blogs and newsletters that keep members informed and connected.
