Learn how Keystone Hardscape’s CityStone™ pavers elevated this rooftop terrace.

Located in Lone Tree, Colorado, which is a suburb of Denver, the Novus Apartments offers its residents a community adorned with deluxe amenities and refined finishes. This upscale apartment complex boasts one- and two-bedroom layouts with built-in fridges, soft-close cabinetry, moveable islands and more! Beyond the bounds of individual apartments, this luxury complex features community spaces like their state-of-the-art fitness center and a showstopping rooftop terrace!

Novus Apartments’ terrace features a pool along with a hot tub, outdoor fire pit, cabanas and a barbeque area. One of the key parts of creating the upscale yet still welcoming ambiance of this space was the choice of pavement for the pool deck and terrace. Regency Partners, the owners of Novus Apartments, knew they wanted a pavement that fit into the modern, Scandinavian-inspired design of the apartment interiors. They also knew that whatever they chose needed to meet the highest standards of safety and comfort for their residents. They ended up choosing Keystone Hardscapes’ CityStone™ 24 x 24-inch paver.

This paver features a smooth surface and classical chamfers which create visual structure and texture that fit into the owners’ vision. The iron oxide pigments used in the manufacturing process also mean that it is prepared to handle the high UV-exposure of the Colorado sun without worrying about the chosen gunsmoke blend color fading. Additionally, the CityStone™ paver meets or exceeds both the ASTM standard for solid concrete interlocking paving units (C936) and the standard for segmental concrete paving slabs (C1782). Local Denver contractor Alpha Roofing handled the 14,000 square foot install of the tiles. They used the Bison Versadjust adjustable pedestal line in combination with CityStone™ to create a stable and level deck that also allows for proper water drainage and airflow for the roof beneath the terrace.

Overall, this project was a stunning success and the apartment’s residents now have a lovely continuation of their upscale and refined living space with this rooftop terrace.
