As battery-powered equipment becomes a staple on job sites, The Toro Company is leading the charge to make recycling high-energy batteries more accessible. Toro recently announced a partnership with Call2Recycle, the nation’s largest consumer battery recycling program, to simplify the end-of-life process for batteries used in outdoor tools and equipment.
The initiative, part of a broader industry effort including brands like STIHL, Makita and Husqvarna, will provide enrolled retailers with safety training and recycling materials. Landscape professionals and contractors can soon return used high-energy batteries to participating sites, ensuring safe, responsible recycling without hassle.
At The Toro Company, sustainability is the foundation of everything they do. Their involvement in this program reflects their commitment to promoting productivity in a way that also protects and enhances the environment and the communities they serve.
Toro’s dedication to renewable resources starts at product design and extends throughout the life cycle of their products and processes. They strive to foster a more circular economy by integrating elements consistent with the EU Ecodesign Directive, championing the use of recyclable and reusable materials where appropriate. Toro’s vision is to create products that are not only innovative but also planet conscious. The company’s work on the High-Energy Battery Recycling program offers customers and channel partners a safe and legal way to return and recycle qualifying lithium-ion batteries, including Toro’s Flex-Force Power System® batteries with a capacity greater than 300-watt hours.
