Safety, quality and innovation: What sets AquaStar Pool Products apart

AquaStar's Bryan Chrissan explains how thoughtful engineering, rigorous testing and user-focused design are driving innovation throughout the pool industry. 

While we were at the Everything Under the Sun show earlier this year, we got the chance to interview Bryan Chrissan, a national technical sales manager at AquaStar Pool Products, about what makes AquaStar stand out. His answer was simple: “Whether it's a drain, a fitting, a valve or our ozone system, our safety, product quality and end user experience differentiates us.” 

Prioritizing safety 

When it comes to AquaStar’s products and operations, safety is at the core of everything. Bryan explained, “Whether it's the end user, the homeowner or the pool service technician that's on site, safety is at the heart of our product design.” 

A great example of this is their Pipeline Filters®. Not only are these filters the first built to be used specifically with variable speed pumps, they also feature a patented double-locking system that allows for a safer, quicker and easier depressurization process. Bryan explained:  

It requires no tools to open. All you have to do is open up the latches, pull the drain plug and start spinning. And if the pump were to turn on during this process, the cover won’t fly up in your face, an unpleasant and dangerous experience that everybody in this market knows about. 

Building for quality 

Just because safety is at the core of every AquaStar product, doesn’t mean they’re letting the quality and performance of their products slip. Their products are:  

• Tested in accordance with the Virginia Graeme-Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act 
• Engineered to exceed industry standards such as ANSI/APSP 16-2011 and NSF/ANSI 50-2009a 
• Designed with highly durable and UV-resistant polymers in that meet even G154 UV standards 

Engineering for the end user 

And last but not least, the three factors that Bryan listed is AquaStar’s dedication to the end user’s experience. He used their pumps as an example, “The big thing with our pumps is we can connect everybody's automation. Not all pumps do that, we're actually one of the few that can, which is great for the end user’s experience.” This is just one of the many ways AquaStar has designed their products to better serve their end users.
